Purchasing a boat can be one of the most enjoyable experiences you can have. My goal is to make that process as easy and fun as possible.

For the last 25 years I have helped people complete their dreams of owning a boat. In 1979 I bought into a sailboat dealership known as Sailboats South. We sold Cal, O’Day, Freedom and several other lines of sailboats.

That business was located at Lauderdale Marina and 25 years later, I am still at Lauderdale Marina , only now with Classic Yachts International About 1981, Sailboats South started a Sailing School called The International School of Sailing.

I managed the yachts sales connected with the school. We had 7 locations including St. Thomas, USVI. Two years later I sold my share of the school and dealership.

I then took two years away from business to cruise the Bahamas in a new Freedom Sailboat. Upon returning to the U.S., I worked for a brokerage firm selling trawlers. I then went to work for the new owners of the Sailing School as the yacht management sales manager.

When the school sold again, I started my own yacht brokerage firm called “Parrott & Herst Yacht & Ship Sales”. Several years later I sold that business and started a new sailing school called Ocean Masters Sailing Academy. I ran the school and sold the boats used in the school until I went to work for Hal Jones & Co. in 1995.

When the opportunity came in the Fall of 2007, I joined Classic Yachts International and continued as sales representative for this authorized Grand Banks Dealer for Florida’s East Coast. I’m very excited about the opportunities this new company has opened up and achieving even greater succes at Classic Yachts International.I hope I can help make your next yacht purchase both happy and enjoyable!
